Playboi Carti was a basketball player and he took up professional coaching to become a full-time player. Before rap Carter wanted to become an NBA star to try and make something of himself. After two months his girlfriend dropped the case against him and he was released from jail. This incident happened in the Los Angeles International Airport Terminal. In the year 2017, Los Angeles police arrested Carti for dragging his girlfriend by the backpack in front of all the public. Overcoming all the difficulties he went to North Springs Charter High School in Sandy Springs where he regularly used to skip classes to work at H&M as well as practice with his music group.

He has a lot of fan following but he made his Instagram page very mysterious without many posts and uploads, but he used to upload some strange pics occasionally which defines something in his life happening. Initially, he joined the underground Atlanta label ‘Awful Records’ and later switched to ASAP Rocky’s ‘AWGE’. His first stage name is Sir Cartier and later he changed it to Playboi Carti.
